NCCG Update Government Covid Booster Vaccination
In line with the Government’s announcement, the NHS is aiming to offer every adult the chance to book a COVID-19 booster vaccine by the end of the year. This means our practice is now prioritising the booster rollout.
As part of this, some of our routine services may be stood down temporarily to allow us to focus on protecting as many patients as possible.
We are still there for anyone who may need care for an urgent need, but would ask for patience as we support this key national priority over the coming weeks. We hope to be able to stand back up any services as soon as possible and will update this page as soon as we know more.
Please don’t forget there are many services available for you, depending on your condition. These include:
- · Self-care – This is the best choice to treat minor illnesses and injuries such as hangovers, coughs, colds, grazes, small cuts or sore throats. Many of these can be treated at home, simply with over-the-counter medicines and plenty of rest.
- · Pharmacy – Pharmacists can give advice on and treat a range of symptoms. They can support you with things such as diarrhoea, earaches, painful coughs, sticky eyes, teething and rashes.
- · NHS 111 – You can access 111 online or via the telephone. This is for any urgent but non-life threatening health concerns. They will be able to signpost you to the relevant service and provide advice where appropriate, or book you in to an Urgent Treatment Centre.
- · A&E / 999 – You should only attend A&E or dial 999 in a life-threatening emergency such as severe bleeding, breathing difficulties and severe chest pain.
If you are now eligible for your COVID-19 booster please book it as soon as you can. It is vital as many people as possible get boosted as soon as possible. Please do not ring the practice regarding your boosters, instead visit https://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/coronavirus-updates/Pages/coronavirus-vaccination-in-northamptonshire.aspx or call 119 to book an appointment or to find a walk-in clinic near you. You can also find out more about who is eligible, how the vaccine is given and other frequently asked questions.
Please use NHS Symptom https://111.nhs.uk/ before deciding to contact us via the telephone,
or try Livi https://www.livi.co.uk/ you can book a GP appointment directly.
We would like to wish all of our patients
health and happiness for 2022!
from all The Team at Park Avenue & Kings Heath Health
We would ask ALL patients entering the surgery after July 19th to continue to wear a face covering when attending the surgery unless you have a valid exemption and to also attend alone whenever possible.
There is strong evidence that face coverings help to both reduce spread and provide protection from Covid and as such we would request that wherever possible you continue to use one in this practice.
We are still open and here for you. We are continuing to provide services as we have been doing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are prioritising delivering of care and services based on clinical needs.
Face-to-face appointments are available to all patients where there is a clinical need.
Online consultation requests for non-urgent help can be made at any time. They will be responded to as soon as possible, usually within two working days.
Alternatively, visit the local pharmacy for clinical advice on minor health concerns.
For urgent issues or out of hours, you can also call the NHS on 111 or go online to seek NHS advice 111.nhs.uk If you have the NHSApp you can access NHS111 on it. The app is available on iOS and android.
Appointments are being delivered face-to-face, by telephone, or using video calls and messaging to your mobile or computer – the practice team will assess what is most appropriate for you and if you have a preference you can discuss this with them
Attending a face-to-face appointment If you are asked to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering. Measures are in place to keep you safe from infection during your visit to the surgery. Welcome to Park Avenue & Kings Heath Practices
The practice was started in 1899 at 5 East Park Parade with two doctors in partnership. The practice gradually expanded and by 1969 there were four partners. New larger premises at 168 Park Avenue North were purchased in 1970.
After a further period of expansion, the adjoining property at 166 Park Avenue North was also purchased. The new properties were converted and extended to form today’s surgery which now houses two partners and a large primary health care team.
We aim to provide our patients with the best possible personal care. We provide a wide range of services and health checks. All doctors provide family planning (including emergency contraception), maternity care and child health surveillance. Dr Nagarajan provides a weekly clinic for minor surgery procedures.
