COVID-19 Update

We shall take delivery next week of another 800 Astra Zeneca Vaccinations.  These are scheduled for Tier 1 and 2 cohorts and those are – patients’ over 80 years old and Health and social care workers.

If you are in this cohort and we have your mobile telephone number you will receive a text from us. You will only be asked to confirm your date of birth.

We will never ask for any Bank Details.  The NHS vaccines are free to you.

We don’t know when we will get any further vaccines but we expect some the following week and hope we will be able to focus on Tier 3 the 75 year olds and above.

The vaccines come in batches of 10 and have to be used within 6 hours of coming to room temperature.  That means at the end of a vaccination clinic we may have a few vaccines have to be used and can use to vaccinate other groups.  We try to use these for patients who have compelling need e.g. a consultant requests one so a patient can start chemotherapy.

We will have vaccinated every patient in our care homes by the end of this weekend.

We are currently vaccinating 1,200 patients per week; we are ready to vaccinate over 1,000 patients per day, 12 hours per day 7 days per week.  We just have to wait for vaccine supplies.

The Park Avenue and Kings Heath practices are running as normal in a COVID secure way.  Please do not be put off from contacting us if you have a medical problem that’s worrying you.

Welcome to Park Avenue & Kings Heath Practices

The practice was started in 1899 at 5 East Park Parade with two doctors in partnership. The practice gradually expanded and by 1969 there were four partners. New larger premises at 168 Park Avenue North were purchased in 1970.

After a further period of expansion, the adjoining property at 166 Park Avenue North was also purchased. The new properties were converted and extended to form today’s surgery which now houses two partners and a large primary health care team.

We aim to provide our patients with the best possible personal care. We provide a wide range of services and health checks. All doctors provide family planning (including emergency contraception), maternity care and child health surveillance. Dr Nagarajan provides a weekly clinic for minor surgery procedures.
